Ohio Valley Conference selects StatBroadcast StatMonitr for its 2012 Basketball Championships

BRENTWOOD, TENN. -- The Ohio Valley Conference has reached an agreement with StatBroadcast to provide its StatMonitr stats system at the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Men's and Women's Basketball championships this March in Nashville, Tenn. StatBroadcast will provide both a live feed of in-game stats for media and staff via the web as well as through its wireless stat monitor system.

The OVC will become the seventh conference to use StatMonitr at its championship events, joining the Mountain West, Missouri Valley, SEC, West Coast, Big Sky and Lone Star conferences.

The OVC Music City Madness Basketball Championships will take place Feb. 29 - March 3, 2012 at the Nashville Municap Auditorium in Tennesseee. All eight men's and women's teams that qualify for the tournament will gather at a single site for the entire tournament. The OVC currently has a membership of 11 teams, including UT Martin and Morehead State, the respective 2011 women's and men's basketball champions, and will field a twelfth team starting in 2012 when Belmont joins the conference. The 2012 Championship marks the 49th time the men's event has been held, making it the fourth oldest Division I championship in the country (behind only the Southern, ACC and SEC).
