College Football Playoff selects StatBroadcast for 2015 National Championship Game

IRVING, TEXAS -- The College Football Playoff and StatBroadcast announced today that StatBroadcast will provide statistics technologies for the College Football Playoff 2015 National Championship Game to be played on Jan. 12, 2015 in Arlington, Texas.

The College Football Playoff (CFP) is the system in American college football that will determine a national champion for the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) beginning in the this season. Under the playoff, four teams will play in two semifinal games, with the winners advancing to the new College Football Championship Game. Six bowl games — the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and Peach Bowl — rotate as hosts for the semifinal games. This year's semifinal games will take place at the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, 12 days prior to the National Championship Game in Dallas.

StatBroadcast will provide the CFP with a mini-site containing real-time stats feeds for media and staff covering the semifinal and championship games; on-site technical support and equipment; and live data feeds of stats for the CFP's website, mobile app and media partners, such as ESPN; StatBroadcast is also providing similar services for the two semifinal sites, the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl games.

This will be the seventh national championship game for college football that StatBroadcast's technologies have been used at since the inception of the BCS National Title Game in 2007. StatBroadcast also partners with the Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl, all members of the CFP's access bowl rotation.
