University of Michigan adopts StatMonitr for 2013-14
ANN ARBOR, MICH. -- The University of Michigan and StatBroadcast announced a partnership today to use the StatMonitr media stats system for home athletic events on the Michigan campus throughout the 2013-14 academic year.
The University of Michigan is a public university located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is one of the original eight Public Ivy institutions and is a founding member of the Association of American Universities. Consistently ranked as one of the top five universities in the nation and top 20 in the world, Michigan also boasts one of largest enrollments in the country at more than 43,000 and has one of the largest living alumni groups in the world, numbered at more than 500,000. The Michigan Wolverines are members of the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I FBS and sponsor 27 varsity sports. Michigan's 35 official NCAA titles ranks tenth all-time and span 10 different sports.
The Michigan football team plays its home games in the country's largest stadium with an official capacity of 109,901; Michigan faithful have seen their team rack up the most all-time wins in college football history (904 at the time of this writing), a .734 winning percentage, 113 winning seasons (including 23 perfect seasons), 11 national championships, 42 bowl games (including 20 appearances in the Rose Bowl) and three Heisman trophy winners.
Michigan's mens basketball team has made 24 NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing to seven Final Fours, finishing runner-up five times (most recently in 2013) and winning the championship in 1989. The Wolverines have also notched 13 conference championships.
